Founded in 2008 Ampfibian produced Australia’s first legal 15A to 10A power adaptor for caravans and motorhomes. Educating the market about safe electrical practice gradually saw dangerous and illegal “death-leads” replaced with Ampfibians.
Adaptors are now an essential item for all travellers, and are being adopted in trade and construction. Ampfibian’s core range of MINI, RV-PLUS and MAX adaptors give retailers and customers “good, better, best” product choices. The MINI-PLUS was developed exclusively for New Zealand. The Ampfibian X1 is a Weatherproof Connector Protector that uses Ampfibian’s patented cord seal. The Caravan Surge Protector is the first product of its kind in Australia.
Ampfibian products are available in Australia and New Zealand from Bunnings, BCF, Anaconda, Blackwoods, electrical and caravan accessory stores.
All products are designed and manufactured in Ampfibian’s Ballina factory in NSW’s Northern Rivers. Additional warehouses in Adelaide and Perth ensure product is available overnight anywhere in the country. The two company owners are also its directors:
David Betterridge is a trained refrigeration mechanic who taught at Charles Darwin University. He also has in-depth experience in the electrical and appliance wholesale sector.
Oliver Kratzer is an award winning industrial designer with twenty years design consulting, business and manufacturing experience. He has worked with Ampfibian since 2008 and joined the company full time in 2014.
